David Sunde
David is a native son of San Francisco, California. He has an undergraduate degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts d egree from Azusa Pacific University. He has been involved in professional non-profit and spiritual leadership for over 15 years. He was recruited away from leading a San Francisco-based non-profit consulting firm by Riverbend Church in 2006. He currently serves on the Management Team and works directly with young adults, young couples, and young families.
Since then, David has championed the development of an activist community of compassionate young professionals. This community has grown to include hundreds of Austin's twenty and thirty-year-old men and women of political, legal, financial, social, artistic, cultural, medical, technological and educational influence. This community has been mobilized to serve and share in acts of compassion and generosity, both locally and globally. David and his wife, Laurel, have two kids, Bjorn and Annika.
Thom Temperli
Thom is a Swiss native and Canadian immigrant but ultimately an aspiring world citizen. He has degrees in Hotel Management and Theological Education, but sees himself as a life-long student of the diversity of life. He joins the Riverbend staff with a passion for social justice and progressive theology to help give leadership to Riverbend's and Austin's young adult community. Thom is married to Anita, a native of Hong Kong, who is as disarmingly unpretentious as she is sweet, and ensures that Thom keeps his feet planted firmly on the grounds.
